Als fotograaf (sinds 2003) en kunstenaar ligt mijn passie bij het maken van foto's met impact die gemaakt zijn vanuit een idee.
Veel van mijn fotografie is abstraherend met een scherpe blik voor licht en composities. Vaak is het uitgangspunt zwart/wit vanwege het abstraherende effect dat dit heeft. Regelmatig maak ik ook gebruik van gemixte technieken door fotografie, digitale beeldbewerking en verf te combineren.
Regelmatig werk ik ook nog met analoge camera's met zwart/wit film. Dit vertraagt het proces waardoor keuzes nog bewuster worden genomen.
Een rode draad in mijn werk is de natuur, vorm, licht en verwondering van alles wat is.
Naast de fotografie ontwerp en bouw ik ook handgemaakte fietsen in zeer beperkte oplages.

In addition to photography, I also design and build handmade bicycles in very limited editions

Photography as a surrealistic way of seeing things.
It makes us see the world and reality around us as a picture and makes it to an object which is the picture itself. However the photo is an interpetation and selective view on what we see!
Photography makes us believe we see more of the reality trough a photo which
is a freeze of time which we can analyse too the detail.
But making a freeze of time to analyze all the funky stuff is very surreal because
everything goes on!
So photography in my point of view is less of capturing reality but making one of your own which you feel comfortable in!
